Halal Certification Process

At Halal Food Safety UK, we implement a proven nine-step Halal certification process, ensuring every product and service achieves the highest standards of authenticity and strict compliance with lslamic dietary law.

Initial Enquiry

The certification process begins when a client contacts Halal Food Safety UK (HFS) via phone, email, or an online form to express interest in obtaining Halal certification.

Submission of Documentation

The client submits comprehensive documentation related to the site information, production process, including raw material specifications and suppliers, food ingredients and additives, processing aids, traceability systems, and quality management protocols. This information forms the basis for the initial compliance review..

Certification Issuance

Following a successful audit and settlement of fees, HFS issues the official Halal Certificate, confirming compliance. All approved products must display the Halal Food Safety UK logo on their labels as a mark of assurance.

Consultations

A dedicated consultation is held to guide the client through the certification journey, including an overview of the requirements, procedures, timelines, and expectations.

Document Review

HFS auditors review the submitted materials in detail and provide a report highlighting areas of conformity, as well as any aspects requiring clarification or corrective action.

Ongoing Compliance Monitoring

To ensure continuous adherence to Halal Control Points (HCPs), HFS conducts regular monitoring, including periodic and unannounced inspections, as part of its ongoing compliance assurance program.

Agreement on Terms

The client enters into an agreement with HFS outlining the terms of certification. This includes the frequency of audits (both scheduled and unannounced), the fee structure for subscriptions and inspections, and the specific responsibilities of each party to uphold Halal compliance, brand integrity, and food safety standards.

Site Audit

A thorough on-site audit of the client’s facility is conducted to verify the feasibility and implementation of Halal-compliant operations and production.

STEP-9

Conducting both scheduled and unannounced spot audits and inspections to verify full compliance with the Halal certification process
